A little bit of sad news that might be of interest to some of the more senior members of the Club, particularly those who participated in the relay run to Bamberg.

Sadly Herbert Lauer, the former Mayor of Bamberg, Bedford's twin town, died recently.  He was a great supporter of the 'Sports Festivals, that were held every 4 years between the two towns and was also a very pleasant individual.  It was always a pleasure to meet up with him, either in Bamberg or in Bedford and it was his efforts that contributed to a lasting relationship between out two towns - Howard Darbon.
